BEHIND THE SCENES OF OUR HOME TOUR ON DESIGN*SPONGE!!!

You know when you have a long time dream that seems impossible to happen?! Well, I certainly do!!!

It was a quiet day at work in the winter of 2007 when my colleague Dan told me about an interiors blog called Design*Sponge, that he thought I would love to read… And oh my… wasn’t he right!!!

I will never forget that day…. because as soon as I landed on their homepage, I instantly felt a connection with Grace Bonney and her super gorgeous blog.

Since then, I’ve been dreaming of having my work featured there… And it wasn’t until last year when Grace shared one of my pictures on her Instagram account (woohoo!), that I started to think that maybe I had a teeny-tiny little chance of making it happen!

So, this January, inspired by Carrie Green, I decided to create a dream jug. (Where I wrote down on individual pieces of paper all my dreams for 2017, and then I put them all inside the jug…. so once a day I pick a paper from there and start visualising that dream becoming reality!)

And one of the dreams inside was to have my work featured on Design*Sponge!
I thought I was probably aiming way too high, but what are dreams if not something that sounds almost impossible, right?!

Well, last week it became real and I’m SO happy to share it here with you all… My face got all puffy and red from so many happy tears I’ve shed! I can’t remember any other time that I felt so incredibly proud of my work! (I’m guilty of constantly thinking that my work is not good enough!)

The amount of love we received from everyone was unbelievable!!!
We adore our home because it is our sanctuary and every little corner here has a connection to us, but I always knew that our more-is-more style is not everyone’s cup of tea, so I really wasn’t expecting all this love! It was AMAZING!!! Thank you SO SO much!

I’m beyond grateful to Grace, the D*S team and to the wonderful Sofia Tuovinen for getting in touch and for writing the most beautiful words to describe our home! ( Seriously… what an honour!)
